AI Adoption Survey 2026: What 26 CRO Actually Use (Plus 30% Off RevOps Essentials Course)
We surveyed 26 CROs about AI in sales. The results show where AI works, what blocks adoption, and which use cases deliver returns worth the investment.
The Data
Organizations moved past experimentation. Average AI maturity sits at 3.04 on a 5-point scale. The bell curve centers at levels 3-4, meaning most companies now run AI in production, not pilots.
Revenue gains dominate as the primary benefit. 46% of CROs cite this as their top outcome from AI investments. Decision-making and efficiency tie at 19%, while customer experience trails at 15%.
The barriers are clear. Data quality and budget constraints tie for first place at 27% each. Change management and skill gaps follow close behind at 23%. Technology isn’t blocking progress—data infrastructure, money, and humans are.
Investment increases across the board. 50% of organizations plan to grow AI budgets by 11-25%. The 8% jumping 30-40% likely represent high-maturity organizations doubling down on proven wins. No one cuts budgets.
What Actually Works
Three use cases deliver measurable ROI:
Call transcription reached table-stakes status. Gong dominates this category. Sales teams save 30-60 minutes per rep per day through automated documentation and MEDDIC extraction.
Data enrichment improves outreach effectiveness by 15-25%. Tools like n8n and Clay combined with data providers like Apollo and ZoomInfo validate contact information and automate account research. What used to take reps 15-30 minutes per account now completes in seconds.
AI forecasting beats human forecasting on close dates. Most companies eventually trust AI predictions more than rep estimates. AI identifies patterns in deal progression that humans miss. Forecast accuracy improves from 70-75% to 85-90%.
